Listen to the Music...

The Blue Sunset Band has been entertaining audiences, on and off, for decades. It started when the four Kalbas brothers began practicing in their parents garage, and playing in the Lee County area in the various dance halls and general stores. At that time they were known by everyone in the area as the "Kalbas Boys", but they later changed their name to what we know them by today. Early on the Blue Sunset Band, name and popularity spread into the surrounding counties, and eventually they were even given the chance to go to Nashville to showcase their talent. However, with one of the brothers still in high school, they decided to stay local. They still managed to open for some of the big names in country music like, John Conley, Eddie Rabbitt, and others, and even backed Jacky Ward a couple times. After a while some of the members grew weary of the band scene and the Blue Sunset Band took a rest. Many years later the crew decided to get back together, and with a sell out crowd they played the old timeless classics they were best known for. The reunited Blue Sunset Band played for a while longer but was put on yet another hiatus. And that is where we are now. John is the only original Blue Sunset member still playing but he is now joined by his son Seth and Ken Tonn. Though we represent a new era of the Blue Sunsets, we still play the same timeless classics that The Blue Sunset Band has always been known for, along with a variety of modern hits.
